As you are probably aware, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State for Education) has proposed changes to the National Curriculum from September 2014.
All KS1 & KS2 pupils will be given the incredible opportunity to learn Practical Cooking. This is a fundamental skill that every person should master, cooking from basic ingredients is at the heart of tackling obesity and will enable future generations to understand food, diet and nutrition, putting together healthy meals for their entire lives.
‘The Mobile Cook Station’ is a fantastic new concept for teaching Practical Cooking to KS1 & KS2 pupilsinside their own classroom. The children choose, plan and prepare the lessons ingredients, the teacher then cooks the prepared food in front of them, demonstrating different types of cooking techniques.
Get one step ahead... Most Primary Schools
do not have adequate Practical Cooking Facilities or Food Technology Rooms, Click Here for more information on the ‘Mobile Cook Station’.
Health and Safety Warning... Not all Mobile Cook Stations advertised for Primary Schools are suitable for KS1 and KS2 children. We have noticed a few companies selling Mobile Cook Stations using Mini Table Top Ovens with Boiling Rings. The height the ovens are positioned leave children vulnerable and susceptible to second-degree burns. All Mexa Thermal Cook Stations comply with the European British Standard EN 60335-2-6.
