FAO TEACHER I/C MEDIA STUDIES
Dear Subject Leader
I hope you had a restful summer and are now settled back into the autumn term. I am a London based established Media Studies and Film Studies consultant – please see our offer at www.millerconsulting.co.uk. I am also the Editor and Principal Consultant at Edusites Media and Edusites Film at www.edusites.co.uk.
We run pupil workshops and CPD in schools and colleges across all exam boards. Many teachers last academic year expressed to me an interest in running Media Studies and Film Studies pupil/student workshops sooner in October, November and December instead of leaving it to April/May/June.
If you need a quotation, do get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07785 994 244. I offer starter workshops in all GCSE and A Level topics from now until Christmas, and booster and revision workshops between January and June. January to June is traditionally my busiest time of year.
Outstanding references evidencing raised attainment are available on request including from the BFI (British Film Institute) for whom I regularly run Study Days on the South Bank. This academic year the BFI have asked me to run Study Days on TV Game Shows, Newspapers and Radio News, An Introduction to the Film Industry, Studying the Superhero Film Genre, Media Regulation and TV Drama.
I am in a constant dialogue with OCR, AQA and WJEC and it seems increasingly likely that the new specifications for September 2017 first teaching may not be fully accredited as late as November/December although hopefully sooner.
Once final draft specifications have been confirmed, I will be running CPD in schools and colleges to provide essential support in the effective delivery of these new courses. Again, feel free to express your interest in booking a half or full day but to stress again, the specifications are currently in draft, non-accredited format.
Best wishes for this academic year.
