We hope you don’t mind us getting in contact. We thought this was a great opportunity for kids to get involved in, as cooking is core to the syllabus.

The UK’s fresh herb producers are looking for enthusiastic cooks aged 7-16 to demonstrate their cooking talent using fresh herbs.

They have teamed up with celebrity chef John Torode to launch a search for the Nation’s Junior Herb Heroes. The top three entrants will be invited to demonstrate their dish at a grand final in London on 24 May 2011 which will be judged by John. The prize includes an overnight stay in London with a parent and £200 in vouchers.

How to enter:
It’s not just your cooking skills we’re interested in, but whether you’ve got star quality in front of the camera too. We want you to ask a friend or relative to shoot a 4 minute video of you cooking up your dish - you can use a mobile phone if you don’t have a video camera - and then upload it onto www.fresh-herbs.co.uk/competition. Or if you prefer you can simply take a photograph of yourself and the dish and send it along with the recipe to Junior Herb Heroes, Mustard Communications, 5th Floor, Regal House, 70 London Road, Twickenham, TW1 3QS. All dishes need to include at least two varieties of fresh herbs.
