Ploughcroft HouseWe would like your school to take part in an exciting renewable energy challenge, with a chance for the winning team to share a cash prize of £1,000* and take an educational tour of Ploughcroft’s Eco Roof Visitor Centre.

Ploughcroft is a renewable energy company that is looking to work with secondary schools like yours on an exciting renewable energy challenge.

Pupils will be asked to work in teams of no more than four to come up with a new renewable product that could save UK households money on their energy bills, whilst protecting the environment.

More details on the competition are on the attached outline.

Kinsley Community SchoolThe competition will run from now until 29th June 2012 and is aimed at Year 9 pupils or above.

Shortlisted entrants will be asked to present their ideas in a Dragons Den style pitch to Ploughcroft’s Managing Director Chris Hopkins.  Chris himself was successful on BBC TV’s Dragons Den last summer and secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis.

Following the pitch, the winning team will be decided upon to receive their cash prize and educational tour of the Eco Roof Visitor Centre in West Yorkshire.  The visit will give young people the chance to meet industry professionals and see for themselves the exciting opportunities within the renewable sector.
