Starters and Plenaries Spanish and French Dear Colleague Welcome to Power Up MFL a new collection of resources for French and Spanish at KS3. Aimed at very busy teachers who are looking for something engaging to start and finish language lessons with students in Year 7. Each CD comprises a Powerpoint presentation of 265 slides which are all in full colour, animated and enhanced with bright colourful images. The Spanish CD follows the syllabi contained in the Mira 1 and Listos 1 textbooks. The French CD follows the syllabi contained in the Expo 1 and Équipe 1 Nouvelle textbooks. The resources are fully tested in the classroom and offer a wide variety of activities to be displayed while students come into the room and are designed to both capture the student’s interest and set a positive start to the lesson. Alternatively the slides can be used as plenaries to consolidate knowledge or as five to ten minute fillers at any point in the lesson. The slides cover all topics introduced in Year 7 and are progressive providing extra challenge as students move through the course. A selection of customisable learning objective slides are also included as well as revision exercises at the end of each topic. The slides give opportunities to practise topic vocabulary, points of grammar and verbs including the present, past and simple future tenses. Each CD is supplied in a jewel case and can be copied for use within the MFL department of the purchasing institution. The cost of each 265 slide CD is just £40.00 including P & P.
