Dear Head Teacher

Camo Day is a nationwide non uniform day in aid of armed forces charity, SSAFA Forces Help – last year 20,000 schoolchildren took part, will you join in this year?

I am asking every school in the UK to show they care about our soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families on 28th June 2013*, which is the day before Armed Forces Day. Camo Day is something I really support – when I was injured in Afghanistan, SSAFA helped me and I’m asking you to help too.
In return for a small donation, children can dress up like our troops, camo paint their faces or wear green, navy or airforce blue clothes and accessories. It’s easy to do, and lots of fun.

The money raised will mean SSAFA Forces Help can continue to support 50,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families every year, including veterans.

Last year, Buryfields Infant School in Hampshire held their first ever Camo Day. They raised over lots of money and had a great time too. You can see what they did in our film, here

For more information, including a resource pack and to register your interest, please visit www.ssafa.org.uk/camoday. (*Scottish schools’ Camo Day is on 21st June as their holidays begin earlier.)

Thanks in advance, from everyone at SSAFA Forces Help.

Yours faithfully

Camo Day

Jacqui Jennings, Head Teacher at Buryfields Infant School, encourages schools to take part:
"Camo Day is great as it’s a fun way to support our troops and their families. The children really enjoyed themselves and had a great sense that they were
helping other people."
