Teen Tech Awards 2014

TeenTech Awards 2015

Hi

The TeenTech Awards 2015
are now officially open for registration!

We were asked to set up the Awards by our patron HRH Duke of York KG and they are open to students aged 11-16. This will be the third year of the awards and some schools are now running them across entire age groups as they have proved an effective way of engaging young people with science and technology, giving them real confidence in their own ideas and encouraging them to take these subjects further.

The TeenTech Awards challenge young people to develop ideas to make life better, simpler or easier in 12 categories, ranging from the Future of Transport to the Future of Food, Energy to Entertainment, Wearable Technology to Health. There is also a Teacher of The Year category and all teachers, irrespective of whether their teams reach the final, are automatically considered. There are some new categories this year including Safety and Security, Retail and Finance and Infrastructure.

There are £1000 prizes in each category and this year the winners of the 'Consumer Innovation Award' will be offered the opportunity to have their product sold in stores across the UK.

The final judging day takes place at The Royal Society in the company of many leading tech celebrities and the winning students are invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate their achievements.

Schools need to register now so we can send full details of mentors, innovation days and Google HangOuts run to support schools and students with their work. If you intend to run the Awards across entire year groups, please let us know.

Students taking part in TeenTech will be eligible to apply for a CREST Silver Award as many of the skills needed to obtain a CREST Award will be demonstrated.
