There is an increasing demand of educational psychology services and unfortunately a shortage in local practices. If you need an educational psychologist to carry out gold standard assessments which will result in making a positive and powerful difference to your students, I would value offering you a service that may be different to your other experiences as shown in the following testimonial:
Dear Dr Patel
You might also be interested to know that we showed your report to Joseph's form teacher - his words were "my experience of ed psych reports is that I usually do not recognise the child I am reading about as the report is nothing like my experience of teaching them. But in this case, the report was spot on and describes Joseph accurately". The fact that Joseph's form tutor fully endorsed your report added extra weight to our belief in your services.
We found your assessment to be incredibly valuable in helping us understand Joseph in a deeper way.
Thank you again for all your help and best wishes
Mr and Mrs Q
Dr Sima Patel founded The Wellbeing Practice to apply her deep knowledge of solution-focused positive psychology to help individuals across education and business.
Sima’s Core Belief:
Listening to the attitudes and ideas of children, young people and adults that underpin their motivation and the essential meaning they attach to their lives; building a knowledge of their strengths and the challenges they experience, equipping them with practical strategies, especially from the area of positive psychology such as resilience, gratitude, humbleness, hope and optimism so they develop self-belief, self-worth and flourish into autonomous and confident individuals.
I have focussed on the study of human strengths and positive psychology in education in particular which is a lovely balance to the focus on human difficulties in my assessments. The intensive studying has enabled me to gain a wider and deeper knowledge of psychology and its application to children, young people, adults, parents and professionals in the field of education and health. I believe in cutting-edge interventions as a result of intensive research activities and professional development to enable others to flourish too.
Experience and Strengths: Sima brings her 26 years of experience working as a Chartered Psychologist and Coaching Consultant in a wide range of roles such as diagnostic assessments, consultancy, training and development, recruitment and selection and customer care to The Wellbeing Practice.
Sima's strengths are in empathic connection, motivating, and explaining. Her goal is to bring psychology to life by transforming psychological principles into engaging and relevant learning experiences. Sima believes in helping individuals thrive and flourish by unearthing a great seam of potential. At The Wellbeing Practice, she applies proven psychology methods to help people overcome their limitations, address their concerns and play to their strengths.
Using gold standard assessments to support children and young people, she helps them surmount learning, emotional and developmental challenges to achieve their full abilities. The same support for adults of any age is also offered.
Using these abilities in her diagnostic work with children and adults has gained her high regard in the South East, South West, Greater London and Overseas.
Sima is a member of the British Psychological Society, its Special Group in Coaching Psychology, and the Health and Care Professions Council. She continues to embark on a range of professional development to bring cutting edge solutions.
The Wellbeing Practice works as part of a multi-disciplinary team with clinical psychologists, speech and language therapists, specialist tutors, nutritionists, osteopaths, homeopaths and hypnotherapists, to offer clients a wide choice of further interventions.
Details of the services that I offer can be found on my website: www.thewellbeingpractice.co.uk and I would be happy to answer any further questions that you may have by telephone or email.
I would really value working with more SENDCOs and Heads of Learning Support and if you feel I could be of help to any parents or children in your school, I would be very grateful if my details could be forwarded to them. As part of the consultation process, a form is always sent to parents to pass on to school to gather school based information so that a holistic system based approach can be used. My assessments also focus on children and young people’s strengths and not just difficulties so that a balanced, comprehensive assessment of a wide range of factors is taken into account.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email amongst the hundreds of things you have to do and please do contact me with any further questions.
This is so very kind of you to send this email. I knew from the very first time we spoke to each other, when you were busy at home in the late evening, and I asked you a question about one of the students, and you helped me and went the whole 9 yards even though you were not at work. People like you do not come along every day, and I wanted to say that the help you have given our students has definitely given them the motivation to do well.
Thank you Sima for all your kindness to me and the school, and I hope that you too get a well-earned rest this summer in some of this lovely sunshine.
With best wishes always"
Thank you from Head of Learning Support
