We wrote to you last year attaching a leaflet informing students about careers in the snow sports industry. We have attached this flyer again.

The Winter Sports Company provides professional training courses for people interested in a career in the mountains. Our success is down to our committed and inspirational students who now work all over the world including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe and even the snow dome in Dubai, where  75% of the instructors were trained by The Winter Sports Company.

This year we have many more opportunities for school leavers. We have 8 internship positions available in Canada starting December 2015. The application process has just opened and will close in August 2014. Successful applicants will receive assistance in applying for a Canadian visa when they are released in December 2014.

 There is an initial cost for internships which includes level 1 instructor training, exams, flights, 4 weeks accommodation and meals , however once qualified students will be guaranteed 20+ hours a week employment at $12 per hour. On-going professional training will continue throughout the season.

Even more exciting are our new SKI PATROL TRAINING COURSES.

SKI PATROL is the Canadian Mountains’ emergency service. They are responsible for primary response in the event of accidents and incidents on the mountain as well as providing on-going safety checks in the mountain environment including avalanche watch, fencing and snow conditions.

Our ski patrol courses take place in Panorama Resort, Canada. This year’s courses begin in December and can include instructor training. Modules taken include First Aid, Risk Assessment, Avalanche Awareness, Primary Response, Lift Evacuation and rope techniques, Helicopter Evacuation and Guest Services.

Many of these modules are transferrable to other occupations. This is an unbelievable start to an amazing career in emergency response.
