Dear Headteacher

England and Wales Schools' Young Writer of the Year 2016

Following a highly successful pilot competition earlier this year in Scotland, I am pleased to announce that we are rolling out the Schools' Young Writer of the Year across GB.

The England and Wales Schools' Young Writer of the Year is a non fiction writing competition open to all England and Wales pupils who are aged 15 to 18 on the closing date for entries of Friday 18 December 2015.

Generous financial prizes will be awarded to both winning author and his/her school (and to two runner-up authors).

The competition is being run by the Young UK and Ireland Programme, an educational initiative of the Young Programme charity:

Rules, advice and further details about the competition can be found in the attached brochure.
The deadline for registering to take part is Friday 30 October.

Best wishes
